Entering the CFMI

Access to the DUMI training program is subject to a selection process based on applications and tests.

  • Conditions of registration

    Issued by Aix-Marseille University, the DUMI is a higher education diploma. Admission to the training program requires a previous level of general and musical studies.

    General studies

    Baccalauréat or D.A.E.U. option A (Diplôme d'Accès aux Études Universitaires - Option A). or MIMA

    The University of Provence's Continuing Education Service organizes training for the D.A.E.U.

    Access to the Continuing Education Service

    NB : Given the level of study and the specificity of the profession at the end of the training, a certain degree of maturity is required: 1 year of study or professional experience is desired after obtaining the Baccalauréat.

    Musical skills

    • Good vocal practice (vocal health, accuracy, and performance skills).
    • Solid instrumental practice (technique and interpretation): DEM / DNOP (Diplôme d'Etudes Musicales or Diplôme National d'Orientation Professionnelle) or level equivalent to the end of Cycle 3 at a conservatory.
    • Easy reading (singing with lyrics); ability to memorize; improvisation.

    These skills are verified during the CFMI entrance tests.

    All musical practices are accepted.

    Any request for exemption from certain courses will be evaluated after the tests have been passed.

  • The registration file

    Putting together the test registration file:

    Documents to be provided:

    1. Completed registration form

    2. Letter of motivation

    3. Curriculum vitae detailing the following points

    • general education
    • detailed musical training
    • musical practices
    • professional experience
    • other experience

    4. Photocopies of diplomas and certificates

    5. 2 recent passport photos and a scan copy of a valid identity card or passport

    ATTENTION : A COPY OF THE IDENTITY CARD OR PASSPORT MUST BE PRESENTED ON THE DAY OF THE VIDEO.

  • The registration fee

    Registration fees for the CFMI

    They depend on your status: initial training (intended for young people) or continuing education (intended for employees, job seekers, entrepreneurs)

    Registration fees in 2022-2023

    1. For initial training: Registration for the diploma 211.00 € (DINs included) + CVEC 92€.
    2. In continuing education: 69€ (national diploma fees) + financing of the training 3750€/year (possible aid according to conditions). Please consult us.
  • Training aids

    The training provided by the CFMI is eligible for financial aid (which is not granted by the CFMI):

    Initial training:

    Higher Education grants, awarded on social criteria (more information)

    Continuing education :

    • Training leave, for people employed by a company paying into a training leave organization (FONGECIF, AFDAS...)
    • The DUMI is an eligible training for the CPF
    • ARE (Allocations de Recherche Emploi et Formation, formerly known as A.F.R.) for certain job seekers: contact your Pôle Emploi professional advisor for more information

  • March session: from March 8th 2023 to March 17th 2023

    Date of deposit for complete file by mail and videos by wetransfer at the latest on March 03, 2023.
  • June session: from June 1st 2023 to June 7th 2023

    Date of deposit for complete file by mail and videos by wetransfer at the latest on May 26, 2023.
  • August session: from August 28 to August 31, 2023

    Date of deposit for complete file by mail and videos by wetransfer at the latest on August 25, 2023.
