The intervening musician

He is a confirmed musician

With a solid instrumental and theoretical training and having acquired specific training in the different aspects of the profession, he is open to a plurality of cultures and musical styles. The range of his skills leads him to sing, conduct, improvise, compose and arrange, ... He is familiar with sound recording, electro-acoustic processing and computer-aided design.

He is a pedagogue

He has a knowledge of the child and of group management; through active and playful approaches, he develops an artistic vocal and instrumental practice where the activities of interpretation, listening and creation are combined to ensure a quality musical education. It gives the pleasure and the means to access music.

It is an actor in local cultural development

His knowledge of institutions and project management enables him to carry out original and varied artistic actions and leads him to make contact with local elected officials and to work with the actors of artistic and cultural education.

The actions of the intervening musician

  • Develop musical projects at school, at the music school, in partnership with the educational teams
  • Valorize these projects in the form of final productions (concerts, recordings, etc.)
  • Organize, prepare and participate in musical diffusion actions for young audiences
  • To conceive and realize educational supports
  • To make the link between the projects carried out in the primary and nursery schools and those carried out in the music school or in other structures; these partnerships can mix various forms of artistic expression (cinema, dance, literature...).

A variety of practice locations

At school

In kindergarten or elementary school, he or she conducts early-learning sessions and collective musical practices in partnership with the teaching staff. He/she initiates and implements artistic and pedagogical projects.

At the conservatory or in the music schools of associations

He/she teaches musical, instrumental or vocal initiation. They may be entrusted with other teaching activities, depending on their personal skills (choirs, wind bands, live music groups).

Cultural and artistic structures

They lead artistic workshops and cultural mediation activities in socio-cultural structures: cultural centers, theaters, museums, neighborhood centers, media libraries, community recreation centers, orchestras and amateur choirs.

In specialized structures

He works with specific audiences and encourages their access to music: early childhood environments (nursery schools), hospitals, places for people with disabilities (IME), retirement homes, prisons, etc.

Public Sector

  • Employer: local authorities (town halls, communities of communes, conservatories)
  • Position : Agent of the territorial public service (titular or contractual)
  • Job description: Assistant Territorial of Artistic Teaching Principal of 2nd or 1st class
  • Full time of 20 hours per week; may include time for coordination and consultation with partners.
  • Remuneration: see ATEA salary scale (1st & 2nd class).

Private Sector

  • Employer : various associations, private companies, self-employed
  • Position : Teacher
  • Job description : Employee of the associative sector depending on the national collective agreement of the animation

The status of teacher provides for a service schedule corresponding to a full-time schedule of 24 hours per week.
